Warranty Repair Service Terms & Conditions
Passwords
We kindly request that any system/BIOS passwords are removed prior to collection. Please note that if this information isn’t removed, we may not be able to carry out the tests necessary to diagnose your device, leading to your device being returned without repair.
Backups
We are not able to offer backups, therefore, before sending the device back to us, please ensure you have backed up all data. Although we endeavour to preserve your data wherever possible, during the repair process data may/can be deleted or become corrupt even if the fault is unrelated to the storage (for example, when replacing keyboards, touchpads or other components)
Accidental Damage
The warranty does not cover any faults caused by accidental damage. If it is discovered the fault has been caused by accidental damage, we reserve the right to refuse repair. Where this is the case, we will provide a quote for out-of-warranty repair
No Fault Found
If your device is sent to us for repair and upon thorough inspection no fault is found, we reserve the right to charge for collection and/or delivery.
Data Erasure
In accordance with current laws, we will erase all data from the device unless otherwise specified. If you do not wish for us to erase all data, you must provide written formal confirmation to techservices@innovent.co.uk. Please note, as mentioned in a previous section of these Terms and Conditions, you are still responsible for backing up your device, as information may be lost during the repair process regardless.
If you require a Data Erasure Certificate for the device, please indicate this in the Warranty Repair Form. Charges may apply to obtain this certificate (specified on the form itself), except on 2nd Life IT devices where the certificate is provided for free upon request.
By agreeing to this Terms & Conditions you confirm that:
- You have removed any BIOS passwords prior to collection (if applicable)
- You understand it is your responsibility to back up any data to an external or cloud-based drive before collection.
- The device doesn't present cosmetic damage or, you have provided an accurate description of the existing cosmetic damage on the Warranty Repair Service Form.
