Trade-In FAQs

What devices are eligible for trade-in?

We accept a wide range of devices from leading brands, provided they meet minimum specifications:

  • Brands accepted: Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Apple, Microsoft
  • Device types: Laptops, tablets, all-in-ones, desktops, servers, storage
  • Minimum quantity: 10 devices per trade-in
  • Specification requirements: Devices must have Intel 6th Gen processors or newer. RAM and other specifications are flexible, but older-generation processors are excluded to ensure resale viability.

Do you collect the devices, or do I have to ship them to InnoVent?

InnoVent handles all logistics. We arrange secure courier collection from your premises to one of our certified warehouses. There are no costs to the customer for shipping, handling, or data erasure. The process is designed to be seamless and hassle-free.

How is my data protected during the trade-in process?

All devices are securely transported to one of InnoVent’s certified facilities, where they undergo rigorous data erasure procedures in line with ADISA (Asset Disposal & Information Security Alliance) standards. These procedures are fully compliant with GDPR and ISO data protection protocols. Devices remain on-site until data erasure is verified. If a device cannot be wiped due to hardware failure or other issues, it will be physically shredded to ensure complete data destruction. A Data Destruction Certificate is issued for every device, providing peace of mind and audit-ready documentation.

What happens to the devices after they’re traded in?

Once processed, devices enter our Turn IT Green programme. Depending on their condition, they are either:

  • Resold to corporate or consumer end-users (e.g., via eBay), or
  • Donated through our partnership with Reusing IT, a charity focused on digital inclusion.

This ensures devices are reused responsibly, reducing e-waste and supporting ESG goals.

How does this help with budget constraints?

The trade-in programme enables organisations to recover value from existing IT assets, which can be directly applied as credit toward future infrastructure investments. This includes new or refurbished endpoints, enterprise hardware, or even Sale & Leaseback options for current infrastructure.

By offsetting upfront costs, the programme supports smarter, more sustainable budgeting — especially valuable for departments with tight capital expenditure limits.

How long does the trade-in process take?

The full process — from collection to final rebate — takes approximately 31 days. During this time, devices are securely erased, tested, and graded. Based on their condition, a rebate is calculated and credited to your account. Bonus credits may apply for larger volumes or returning customers.
